Mission Statement

People ride bicycles for many reasons, whether it be for transportation, exercise, a release from stress, sport, or just for fun.  To some people, riding becomes more of a passion and unlocks our competitive nature.  Indeed, to the biking enthusiast, few things in life are better than having the perfect ride.  Ultimately, biking is a healthy, natural way to feel alive; and to some people, bring them back to life.

At Perfection Bicycles, we continually strive to find the best engineered, lightest, most reliable bicycle components and materials available.  The best components coupled with the highest quality assembly practices will provide you with a bike that will fit properly, ride straight, shift flawlessly and allow you to get into "the zone" without having to think about your bike.  We believe that your bike should be an extension of your body, and should add as little weight to your experience as possible.  Your personalized bike should set you free to pursue your specific goals whether they be fast paced group rides, grinding over high mountain passes, messy slogs around a cyclocross course, or adrenaline pumping single track adventures.

We specialize in building custom Road, Cyclocross, and Mountain bikes.  Within these categories, we custom build bikes to fit your riding interests, body weight and measurements, flexibility, aggression style, and experience.  Semi-custom bikes that will meet all of these goals are also available for the majority of body types.

We invite you to browse through our interactive site.  Whether you already know the type of riding you will be doing or are interested in other styles of riding, we are confident you will find what you are looking for at Perfection Bicycles.

bullet

You can read, study, and come up with questions from the comfort of your home, on your schedule.  We will not be looking over your shoulder nor pushing you into a sale that you might not be completely comfortable with.

bullet

We specialize in and sell only bicycles and bike products.   Our desire is to be masters in the field of custom and semi-custom bike building.  We are passionate about biking and will take the time to answer your questions.   You can contact us by email,  or phone.

bullet

We cater to the needs of customers who are passionate about cycling.  We choose only the best manufacturers.  We invest a lot of time in researching manufacturers for the best engineered, lightest, and most durable products available before we make a recommendation to you. We do not sell, or recommend  products based on profit margin, or product popularity alone.

The Process:

bullet

In order to accurately size your bike, we will need precise measurements of your body.   For this reason, we have provided a "Sizing and Questionnaire Form" for you to fill out in the comfort of your home. The section of our web site on Custom Fitting  contains detailed instructions, and sketches to insure that you get accurate measurements.  All of your information will be entered into the most thorough bike fitting program called Accufit.  Accufit was created by bike fitting guru, Bill Boston. Based on this information we will be able to  recommend several different frame options from our semi-custom line up.  You will also be given the various measurements for a full custom bike designed for your specific body, and cycling style.

bullet

After the sizing and frame selection, we will begin the component selection.  Based on your riding style, together we will make decisions about your wheel sets, tires, transmissions, cranks,  brake system, handle bars, stems, seat post and seat that you desire.  Once you are satisfied with the quality, fit, and component selection for your personalized bike, financial arrangements will be made.

bullet

Depending on the degree of customization, we will receive the frame in 1 to 10 weeks.  When received, we will personally confirm the straightness of the frame, machine the head tube and bottom bracket, align the derailleur hanger and forks, and build your wheel set.  Many bike shops, even custom shops, just put parts together without assuring the trueness and alignment of all components.  What sets us apart from the rest is that we take the time to accurately measure, machine and align every component on your bike. This is the only way to assure that your bike will be the best operating, longest lasting bike you will ever own.

bullet

Because we demand perfection, building your bike will take a few weeks once we have the parts.  We will email you every night with pictures of your bike's progressWe want you to be extremely pleased with your bike.

bullet

When your bike is complete, it will be shipped insured to you in a high quality, hard bike transport case.  We do not use cardboard boxes to ship your bike.  You will be able to re-use this case for air travel, or shipping your bike.

Warranty and Shipping

Our 30 day standard warranty will give you ample time to ride your bike, and experience the pleasure of a high quality bike.  If during those 30 days, anything on your bike is not working properly*, we will pay for the shipping both ways to make the situation right to your satisfaction.  The manufactures warranty will be a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturers defects, unless otherwise stated.

*Does not include damage caused by crashes, intentional or accidental mishandling.
